Peace on Earth and the Politics of Christmas

January 6 is Epiphany (meaning "to make manifest").  Since the 4th century it has been a major annual celebration for Christians around the world... remembering the visit of the Magi and the wonderful reality of God made manifest in Jesus.  Our friend Will O'Brien at the Alternative Seminary does a stellar program called, "Peace on Earth and the Politics of Christmas".  We look at the subversive nature of the coming of Jesus, as a homeless baby in the middle of a massacre -- with King Herod killing the innocent babies, and the Magi disobeying orders to come back and tell Herod where the little Messiah was, and with Mary proclaiming "God casts the mighty from their thrones and raises the lowly... God fills the hungry with good things and sends the rich away empty."  Divine insurrection.   You can see the whole program here, as a little Epiphany gift.
