Prayer book is finished

For nearly 5 years this book of prayer has been in the works.  Dozens of folks have had a hand in compiling what we think will be an instrumental tool for helping our communities, and the Church in general, pray together.  We have created morning prayers for each day of the year, putting the church liturgical calendar alongside the calendar of world history (marking significant dates in the struggle for peace and freedom).  There is a midday prayer and 7 evening prayers to be repeated each night of the week, and over 50 songs, from old hymns and freedom songs to contemporary worship and Taize chants.  And the book includes tons of original art pieces and prayers for special occasions… we’re stoked.  Common Prayer comes out in November just in time for Advent and Christmas.   Soon we’ll have more info on our site and on www.commonprayer.net.
